Cookie Dough & Regret: Baking and Shame

This warrants a response. Yes, in first person!

I, the writer/baker/photographer of ieatbutter am, well, a writer. One who is currently at work on a book, on a deadline! While engaging in said project, I also hold down a job, blog elsewhere, and manage the day-to-day obligations that come with being a grownup,  and having family. I don’t always do those things so well.

Some months ago this tumblr went from being a post-a-day tumblr to a less frequent thing while I assisted with a family member’s recovery from an accident (I did *not* do this alone—the recovery effort was a full-family affair).

During that time my baking had to take a backseat. Not long after the recovery and life sorted themselves out, I was contacted about working on a novel (a huge dream). Time-consuming? Yes. Lifelong dream? Absolutely.

I once again ask folks to bear with me. I still bake, though now only as time allows. ieatbutter is a labor of love, done in the spirit of fun. It’s important to me that *I* make what appears within as opposed to just aggregating content. I make no money from it, and thus am forced to regard it as a hobby rather than work (though it is actually quite a lot of work) which means it must take a backseat for a little bit, thus not allowing for daily posts.

That said, I’m still here! Still working on posts, just not quite as frequently. Please bear with me, er… you. I shall have something up later tomorrow. Until then, have some shoofly pie?
